I work in an industry where trust is not given, it is diligenced. Regulators check. Banks check. Boards check. Every meaningful relationship in regulated finance starts with someone quietly verifying that you are who you say you are.
Most personal sites fail that test. They are resumes with better fonts: claims, adjectives, a contact form. Claims are cheap now. AI made writing free, which means the polished paragraph no longer signals anything. What is scarce is the record: numbers with stakes attached, work that is live and inspectable, a history that corroborates.
There is also a simpler reason. The old site was built for a version of me that no longer exists: a compliance professional with a corporate headshot and a list of jobs. The last year changed what I am. I ship product now. I run agents in production. The brand had to catch up to the operator, and a refresh this deep is not a coat of paint, it is a correction of record.
So the site I want is not a portfolio. It is a credibility layer, and it keeps two books.
The ledger holds what already happened: cases cleared, programs stood up, licenses acquired, teams built. Entries with numbers, because numbers can be checked and adjectives cannot.
The journal holds what is happening: the work as it ships, written when it ships. A record kept in real time is hard to fake backwards. That is the point.
Around the books, the layer itself should be evidence. A strip of telemetry from the systems that run my work. A voice that discloses it is AI because the disclosure is the demonstration. And a version of all of it written for machines, because the people I work with increasingly send their AI ahead of them to do the checking. When the agent arrives, it should find the record waiting in its own language.
One rule governs the whole thing: show, never pitch. No offers, no prices, no urgency. If the record is real, it converts on its own time. If it is not, no amount of pitching survives diligence anyway.
